Brooklyn Townhouse

Renovating this 2-family Brooklyn townhouse focused on unearthing what was original to the house. The original layout of the 1,800sf, 3-bedroom apartment on the lower levels had a galley kitchen and bathroom in the middle of the parlor floor, with a bedroom at the back. We removed every wall to create one expansive space for living and entertaining. We exposed the brick party walls and wood ceiling joists, previously hidden by sheetrock, moved the kitchen to the back of the house, and added glass doors and a deck over the back garden for dining. The garden level houses all three bedrooms and two bathrooms, while the cellar level has been transformed into a home office, art studio and guest bedroom.
